Especially for something with very restricted storage. Even a pared-down Windows 10 install would eat 90% of that paltry 32GB SSD.

It's been a neat little toy, and I've actually enjoyed using it. Modern Linux really is a "lighter" option than macOS or Windows, it seems.

Linux Mint runs quite well on it, even if the hardware is a bit anemic. Surprisingly, the wifi card and webcam just worked out of the box.

The entire experience (HW & SW both) was very easy, and I feel very accomplished.

I bought a Chromebook used on FB Marketplace for $10 with a bum screen (model CB3-431). Replaced the screen for $25 (shockingly easy), then flashed the firmware to UEFI and installed Linux on it.
