Nodes cost next to nothing to spin up. A miner could create 10,000 nodes and relay whatever they wanted to. Thinking a bunch of nodes with minimal economic activity are important is folly.

What would the architecture of this even look like? 10k full nodes, so 10PB of HDDs? Or all pruned nodes? Maybe 10k front ends + one full or pruned backend? Are the 10k IPs individual VMs? Is faking 10k nodes actually as trivial and cheap to pull of as you say?
