no its not man. We might disagree on whether bitcoin is money or not.
I say it its, you might say it sometimes is.
Lets be honest about disagreeing.
But under the assumption that bitcoin is money and only money except when spam finds its way through - then its not dangerous to say non-monetary data is unwanted.
On the other hand, it is dangerous to CHANGE a default setting in a major implementation of the protocol - to now signal to "spammers" that their spam is accepted on the blockchain.
If not STRICTLY necessary AND not widely accepted - dont merge changes.
