Moist5h agoare you saying they weren't unarmed or weren't protestors? the reasons for intervention are many and varied. you'd like to say on humanitarian grounds you'd intervene to stop the slaughter, but geopolitics doesn't really work like that. if I was American and looking at it purely from a selfish point of view it is a good idea. Venezuela annoyed China, but was only 5% of their oil. Iran supplies 20% though, so cutting off 25% of their oil (and the cheapest source) puts a lot more pressure on their manufacturing. if you think a dominant China wouldn't destroy the US economy and your living standards yhen you are very naive. also Iran is the bigges sponsor of terrorism through the ME and spreadibg across Nth Africa. cutting that would be hugely brneficial to many countries and the US economy, not to mention reducing the risk to shipping if the Houthis aren't funded. we could soend days debating the nuance of those issues, and many more. but America first does not mean American isolation. and a free "democratic" (whatever that means these days, but you know what I mean) Iran would be a great trading partner and could be a major stabilizing force in the region. sure it could becone destabilized and huge cluster fuck, but the status quo isn't tenable so something must be done
