Maybe, but I'm concerned that missles and drones change the logic of violence. The US has been an armed state with oceans that act as a barrier to countries without an air force. Drones are a game theory optimal counter-move to that historical fact. The US military carried an order to assassinate a world leader without provocation. There was no real reason other than they said bad things and hijacked some planes 40 years ago. We must assume this action will motivate the new leader to react to this provocation. They are cutting off oil from the middle east. The US, as well as every other developed nation cannot deliver food without oil. It appears that the US did not consider the change in the logic of violence drones represent. This is not an ideal situation. Even if they bring back the draft, how will boots on the ground fight drones powered by AI and god forbid worse stuff?

That's the bit that gets me—it's all theatre until it isn't. What's the endgame you reckon, actual collapse or just eternal performance?
