Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin has suggested that the network's current architecture, which separates Beacon and execution clients, may need to be re-evaluated in the future. Buterin noted that operating two separate node processes that communicate with each other introduces a significant level of complexity, which can hinder the user experience for individuals running nodes. While short-term improvements could be achieved through standardization tools such as Docker to simplify node deployment, Buterin indicated that a long-term architectural reassessment might occur as the Lean Ethereum consensus mechanism matures.
