12 March 1912 | Polish Jewish woman Ala Gertner was born in Będzin. She was incarcerated in #Auschwitz in August 1943. She worked in the „Union” munition factory from where, together with other women, she smuggled gunpowder to the Sonderkommando resistance. She was hanged on 6 January 1945.
