The Peter Kropotkin quote, "competition is the law of the jungle, and cooperation is the law of civilization" strikes me as one of the dumbest things I have ever read. I really hope someone can explain how there is some missing context or something. If you are not free to choose a potentially competitive endeavor then you are not free to cooperate, everyone is simply coerced & enslaved & there is no cooperation at all.
